A fine and rare Irish George III period Statuary and Brocatelle marble chimneypiece, the breakfront shelf with a moulded edge, above a fluted frieze centred by a tablet depicting Aphrodite in her chariot together with Hermes, inspired by Ovid’s love of the gods, the fluted end-blocks above free-standing Tuscan fluted columns on a plinth base, the opening with a carved border.
