A FINELY CARVED LOUIS XV ROCOCO CHIMNEYPIECE in White Carrara marble. The serpentine shelf over a profusely carved frieze with a large high relief carved central floral Cartouche flanked by further richly scrolled floral tendrils. The scrolled end consoles are surmounted by winged Cherubini, descending to floral bottom scrolls. French, mid 19th century.
