A beautifully carved and pleasantly patinated early pine and gesso antique fireplace surround the shelf with a delicately carved border above repeating foliate bands, the frieze centred by gambolling putti within a medallion and with draped bellflowers and tied reeded bands either side within a beaded panel, flanked by carved figural endblocks above tied tapering reeded jambs.
