A French chimneypiece in finely veined Statuary Marble. The frieze of this charming Louis XVI fireplace surround is adorned with scrolling foliate and floral ormolu decoration within a beaded border. Square ormolu paterae decorate the endblocks above the tapering stop fluted console jambs enhanced with applied ormolu clusters. French, early 19th century.
