A large carved polished pine fireplace mantel in the English Baroque manner. The breakfront shelf set over dentilled, castellated detail above an inset frieze panel centred with a clamshell carved in high relief over scrolled cartouche. The opening is flanked by descending bellflower decoration and set within are the original veined and figured pale Sienna marble ingrounds and original black Belgian fossil marble fender.
English, circa 1920, with known London Provenance.
