An exceptional Edwardian Chinese Chippendale style, burnished cast iron antique fireplace surround and integral overmantel. The overmantel, with a pierced fretwork crest, is set above an oval shaped recess probably meant to frame a mirror or a painting. The recess is surrounded by a blind fretwork geometric decoration with a shelf to either side over a further mantel shelf supported on a central demi-lune bracket above ribbon tied floral swag detail. The jambs are fronted by a pair of tall, slim fluted pilaster columns.
English circa 1910.
Notes: There is a model number to the back 'No: 342' .
