An elegant Louis XV fireplace in red hued Languedoc marble. This particularly pretty example features a moulded serpentine shelf above a slender serpentine frieze, which is carved with a central shell cartouche and trailing flowers. This is framed by boldly carved c-scroll endblocks over floral console jambs.
French, mid-19th century.
