A very finely mottled Carrara marble Louis XV chimneypiece of particularly elegant design, with a moulded serpentine shelf, and a foliate central cartouche modelled as a shell. This motif is echoes by the endblocks, which sit of panelled and angled, console jambs.
French, late 19th century.
