An elegant Louis XVI style fireplace surround, finely carved in Arabascato marble. The fluted frieze, beneath the moulded shelf, with a central floral garland panel is flanked by round rosette paterae on the endblocks. The fluted volute jambs topped by tumbling floral festoons and scrolled feet supported on sturdy footblocks. French, mid 19th century.
