Stock No.14207
An unusually tall and elegant Louis XV style Rococo antique fireplace, including a decorative insert, in richly veined Saint Anne marble. The deeply moulded serpentine shelf is set above the panelled frieze, centred by a carved Rococo clam shell cartouche, flanked by smaller shell endblock over tall angled, scrolled and panelled console jambs.
French, late 19th century.
Note. The last two images show the fireplace with the later decorative steel and brass insert on a wooden frame. It is not suitable for use with a real fire.
