A French Louis XVI fire surround delicately carved in Pavonazza marble, white with purple and dark blue veining and figuring. The simple moulded shelf over a panelled frieze carved with Vitruvian Scrolled detail, symbolising ocean waves, flanked by square floral Paterae, over canted scrolled supports carved with Acanthus leaf decoration. French, 19th century.
