An unusually large Louis XV fireplace surround in Rouge De Rance red and white figured marble. The wide serpentine shelf sits on the shaped frieze which is centred by a shell cartouche, flanked by scrolled endblocks descending on shaped and paneled, angled jambs. French, early 19th century.
