Stock No.12596
A fine Aesthetic Movement cast iron fireplace insert designed by architect and designer Thomas Jeckyll (1827-1881) for the Barnard, Bishop and Barnard Foundry of Norwich, England. Here Jeckyll incorporated variations of his trademark designs of stylised birds, flora and fauna and set them in thirteen roundels on a background of Japanese style basketwork.
English 1870 - 1880.
Notes: The Barnard, Bishop and Barnard logo can be found in the top left hand roundel following their practice of hiding it somewhere on the front of their pieces or in amongst the design.
