An enormous late nineteenth-century giltwood French firescreen of exceptional quality, very much in the Louis XV taste. The frame profusely decorated with scrolling acanthus leaves, surmounted by a female mask, echoed on the shoulders with two opposing female terms, which frame the damask silk interior. The frame is mounted on 4 cabriole legs.
