A Georgian style 19th century polished steel antique fire grate, with an arched backplate, in the manner of Robert Adam possibly made by Thomas Elsley. The three barred grate, with bead edging throughout, has two small mounted urn finials and etched oval paterae on the shoulders and echoed on the standards. The apron with finely cut alternating oval paterae and foliate motifs, the twin tapering etched standards are surmounted by a pair of larger urn finials. English, late 19th century.
