A large English Baroque marble sundial and baluster pedestal in the Baroque manner. The 18th century base is finely carved in Statuary Marble with egg and dart detail around the top, deep spiral fluting around the baluster form body and acanthus leaf and scrolled decoration carved around the lower section. The whole raised on a circular socle. The sundial itself is 17th century, with a circular equation of time graph on its face.
